Donor Privacy Policy

This is a commitment to the people who fund our work. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and is specifically about donors.

We do not sell, rent, trade or share our donor list

Not with other charities, not with mailing list brokers, not with anyone. Your name will not appear on a list that leaves this organisation. There is no exception to this that we are quietly not mentioning.

Your card details never reach us

Donations are taken on Stripe's or PayPal's own secure pages. We never see, handle or store your card number, expiry date or security code.

What we keep

Your name, email address, and any postal address or telephone number you gave; the amount, date and designation of each gift; and the receipt we issued. We keep it so we can acknowledge your gift properly, answer questions about it, and meet our tax and record keeping obligations.

Donation records are kept for seven years. We are required to keep them, so this applies even if you ask us to delete everything else.

Being named, or not

You can ask to give anonymously when you donate, and we will not name you publicly as a supporter. If you did not tick that box and would rather we had, just tell us and we will change it.

Email

We only add you to our mailing list if you explicitly asked to be added — donating is not treated as agreeing to receive newsletters. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

We will still email you a receipt for a donation, and we will still reply if you write to us. Those are not marketing.

Your receipt

Every gift receives an emailed receipt showing our name and tax identification number, the date, and the amount, together with a statement that no goods or services were provided in exchange. Keep it for your records. If it has not arrived, or you need another copy, ask us and we will send one.

Asking us to change or remove your details

Email support@otolizz.org or call +1 646 641 8307 and we will:

• tell you what we hold;
• correct anything wrong;
• remove you from all contact lists;
• delete your contact details, keeping only the financial record we are obliged to retain.
