We are founded to empower humanity

Our mission

The mission of the Otolizz Foundation is to eradicate poverty, homelessness and illiteracy, to promote a healthy lifestyle and address underage pregnancy among girls, and to educate young men and women for a better future.

Our story

Building unity and hope

We initially started this foundation in October 2003 after my husband succeeded his brother, Gyensare IV. At that time, the Akwamu people had been in conflict for over 18 years, and I felt a strong need to promote peace and unity within our communities. I began by gathering the women of Akwamu, traveling from town to town, and preaching peace. Within a few years, our group grew to about 750 dedicated members. Together, we focused on education and supporting those in need by donating clothing, food, drinks, and other essential items, fostering a spirit of love and solidarity throughout Akwamu.

From Accra to Gyakiti, we distributed computers, school supplies, chairs, tables, and more. We also built an 18-room toilet facility in Dasaase near Newtown and helped construct an emergency room for St. John's Grammar Secondary School in Domi near GIHOC, including providing 20 hospital beds brought from the United States. We always had to pay duty for these donations because time was of the essence. Although the Ministry tried to help, we often ended up paying demurrage at Tema, so it was more efficient to handle it ourselves.
